Bone broths are deeply nourishing and soothing to the digestive tract and a great way to build blood, tonify and nourish the kidneys in cold winter months.
Basic recipe and add meat of choice or no meat at all.
- 1 pound free range/organic/grass fed/wild; chicken, beef, or fish
- 10 cups of water
- Small handful of bay leaves
- 2 inches of fresh ginger
- 5 cloves garlic
- 1 onion
- 2 tsp fennel seeds
- 1 tsp cardamom pods
- 1 tsp cloves
- 1 star anise
- 2 tsp cinnamon bark
- 2 tsp fresh turmeric
- 1 tsp pepper corns
- Left over vegetables from fridge can gather during the week (carrot tops, celery, cauliflower, leeks, zucchini, dark mustard greens etc.) can be collected in a bowl in the fridge and added in!
- Salt and Pepper to taste
If you are vegan or a vegetarian you can skip the meat and make a nourishing broth to your desired taste, adding a teaspoon of coconut oil can make it more rich and soothing.

My favorite way of cooking it is in a crock pot.
Enjoy the nourishment.
